Microsoft Teams is available to all students and staff at Morley College London, to enhance learning and support collaborative working, with the following services:
- chat messaging
- voice and video calls
- document collaboration
Microsoft Teams can be accessed through Microsoft Office 365, either online or using the Teams app.
Accessing Teams Online
To access Microsoft Teams online, browse to http://www.office.com and sign in with your Morley College e-mail address and current password.
IMPORTANT - If you are signing in as a student, your Morley College e-mail address will be your student number followed by @morley.ac.uk e.g. 12345678@morley.ac.uk
Once you have signed in click the Teams app to open Teams.
Downloading the Teams App
The Microsoft Teams app is available to download online from https://products.office.com/en-gb/microsoft-teams/download-app. The app is available for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices.
To download the app for your desktop, scroll down and select Download Teams
To install the app for your mobile device, enter your e-mail address in the box provided and select Send Now. You will be sent a link to download the software to your your mobile device.
Once installed you are ready to start Teams:
- In Windows, click the Start button and select Microsoft Teams
- On a Mac, go to the Applications folder and click Microsoft Teams
- On mobile, tap the Teams icon.
Sign in to the app with your Morley College e-mail address and current password
Signing In for the First Time
If you haven’t signed in to Office365 before, you may be asked to register for our password reset self-service option, by providing either a mobile number, alternative e-mail address or both. This is to ensure you can reset your password online, in the event you are unable to remember it.
Joining a Teams Meeting
To join a meeting in Teams, select Calendar in the app bar (to the left), then click on the meeting and select Join. Review your audio and video settings, then click Join Now to join the meeting.
If you are using the mobile app the calendar is shown as Meetings.
You may also be sent a meeting invite in Outlook, that includes Teams joining instructions. Click on the Join Teams Meeting link to open up the meeting in Teams. Review your audio and video settings, then click Join Now to join he meeting.
Schedule a Meeting with Teams
To schedule a meeting in advance using Microsoft Teams, click on Calendar in the app bar (to the left), then click New Meeting, complete the meeting details including the invitation to attendees (they will appear as you type their name) and click Save to save your changes.
You can also schedule a Teams meeting using Microsoft Outlook, by creating a meeting request, then clicking the Teams Meeting button, to automatically add Teams information to your meeting request.
Meet Now
To arrange a meeting with one or more contact in Microsoft Teams, click on Calendar in the app bar (to the left), then click Meet Now. The screen will change to show your camera if enabled. Review your audio and video settings then click the Join Now button to start your meeting.
Enter the names of anyone you wish to invite to the meeting in the box under People. Their name will appear as you type - just click their name to invite them to the meeting immediately.
Ending a Teams Meeting or Call
If you are the meeting organiser, click the red button (telephonies handset) to end the meeting.
If you are a meeting attendee, clicking the red button will mean you have left the meeting.
